Let's take it outside!
I am attempting to transition the Wednesday night climbing session from Hive Heights to a rock climbing crag. Will it be too early? Possibly. But Lighthouse Park gets a lot of direct sunlight, so it might be dry and warm enough.
We will probably head to Juniper Point. There is a boulder problem close by with an interesting thin thin crack that I thought to set a rope up on. There is also Arbutus Alley for the adventurous.
Yes, there is paid parking. I'm not totally sure how this will fly, but it has to be manageable. Car pooling will be key.
Preference will be given to previous attendees of Evening at Hive Heights. This will do away with the need to worry about belay ability. Preference will also be given to familiar faces, particularly rock climbing ones. The very familiar might be called upon to assist. Or be my belay slave as I work on my 8s.
I will restrict the number of participants to 4. This may change depending on experience of attendees.
If it appears to be a rainy day (to be discussed in the forum) I will switch the event to Hive Heights, 5PM to 7PM.
I will leave my Kitsilano location at 4:00ish and set up two ropes at the select climbing crag. I have room for 3 additional persons in my vehicle. You are welcome to join me, or deliver yourself at a later hour.
You are responsible for your own personal equipment (shoes, harness, helmet, belay equipment).
Come on down and let's crush some routes!
