Seeking to tick off Banana Chute on Fissile Peak?
We’ll be accessing the backcountry via Whistler lifts (lift ticket required).
With stable avalanche conditions and well-preserved alpine snow, we're set for an epic day.
This 18km round trip boasts 1300m of elevation gain with the goal of conquering a broad, 315m long chute. The chute begins at a challenging 45º for the first 50m, gradually decreasing to around 35º.
We'll maintain a moderately fast pace, so a relatively high level of fitness is essential.
All participants must possess AST1 certification and proficiency in skiing complex terrain.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures slightly below zero.
Must have avalanche gear, ice axe, crampons, and plenty of food/snacks and water.
