It looks like there is lots of snow is in the forecast this week, and the flanks of Black Tusk have some great early season ski potential.
Access would be via Rubble Creek and we will take the standard route up past Taylor Meadows and then towards Black Tusk. From there we will play it by ear depending on snow stability, and hopefully find some good turns! Depending on snow levels we might be walking on foot for some time, so pack some approach shoes and crampons/ski crampons as it might be icy in areas.
While the skiing on this trip isn't challenging, the distance to Black Tusk may be for some. Make sure you're comfortable in your boots over longer distances, and happy following a moderate pace.
The weather is looking good, and hopefully they'll be some deep and fresh snow to play in. This particular time of year in the park can be very beautiful skiing above a turquoise Garibaldi Lake!
