I discovered this trail a few years ago, and I always wanted to share this beauty with others. I don't believe it is reported on any app (and let's keep it that way!). It's a secret, secretive trail. And I think it is a nice way to spend a day where you have to stay local and you don't have a lot of time. It meanders through some oldish looking growth and fields of cattails. There is no technical difficulty associated with the trail (outside of a climb over one, possibly two fences, and possibly a very steep climb up a slimy embankment), and we can take our time, enjoy the views, have a little picnic, whatever the crowd wishes. Come on down and explore a hidden gem of Metro Vancouver!!
Start time: 9AM (I have to catch a ferry at 4:30, so this time is negotiable so long as I get home in time).
Duration: 2-4 hours
Meeting location: Kitsilano, 5th Avenue and Yew Street. There is a large public parking area on the corner which makes for good meet and greet.
To bring: Reasonably good footwear (think of an eroded trail, possibly muddy). Waterproof jacket. Delicious things to snack on, possibly drink. Headlight is always a good idea.
