Join me for an exhilarating two-week climbing adventure to Red Rocks Canyon in Las Vegas, Nevada. This exclusive trip is open to up to three participants who are comfortable with trad climbing, leading up to 5.9 multipitch, and ideally leading up to 5.10+ or greater.

Embark on a journey of epic climbs, encompassing classic multipitch routes, single pitch trad, and sport climbing. The itinerary includes the potential for a rest day or two, providing opportunities to explore local attractions and activities in the vibrant surroundings of Red Rocks Canyon and Las Vegas.

When:

March 19th to April 1st, 2024

Where:

Red Rocks Canyon National Conservation Area, with camping arrangements at the Red Rock Canyon Campground.

Logistics:

The trip involves a scenic 20-hour drive from Vancouver, with an overnight stay in Boise, Idaho, on the way down and back. Participants are encouraged to share driving responsibilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey.

Organizer's Experience:

I have been to Red Rocks Canyon twice before, bringing a wealth of knowledge about the terrain and logistics of the area. With a climbing proficiency of up to 5.10+ trad and a project grade of 5.12a sport, rest assured that you'll be in capable hands. I will provide a double rack, a 70m rope, and can bring two half ropes if needed.

Pre-Trip Meeting/screening:

Given the extended duration of the trip, I suggest meeting for some indoor climbs or a casual drink beforehand to gauge compatibility and ensure a harmonious group dynamic.

Essentials:

Participants are required to bring their own camping gear, including a tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag, as night temperatures can drop below 0 degrees Celsius. Cooking gear can be shared, with the organizer providing a Coleman stove, cookware, and a cooler. The campground also offers charcoal BBQ at each site, and a grocery store is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive away.

Cost Breakdown:

Transportation:

Red Rocks Canyon Campground, Nevada (4000 km round trip from Vancouver & 500km of driving while there based on $1.75/l)

One Passenger:          $ 787.50 (4500km x $0.175/l)

            Two Passengers:         $ 787.50 each ($1,575.00 total)

            Three Passengers:      $525.00 each ($1,575.00 divided by 3)

Camping Cost:

$25/night x 10 nights = $250 US dollars = $340 CAD

Two people: $170 each

Three people: $113 each

Four people: $85 each
