A great shoulder season hike.
It will rain (otherwise I would have picked something more robust). It might even snow. We will go unless the highway is closed due to a washout or major catastrophe. Pace will start casual, then peter off to down right slow. Length is ~10km. Hike ends at a lovely waterfall that makes for a good spot to pull out the stoves, have some hot chocolate and eat gingersnaps.
Rain gear is advised and a headlamp is a must! I'm probably going to wear hiking boots and gaiters for the mud. You could probably get away with trainers, but anticipate wet terrain. As there might be icy sections, I'll bring the microspikes and a pole or two, but I leave that to personal choice. Bring a mug if you want some hot chocolate. And there is a waterfall!
Check out AllTrails (CrookedFalls) for more info. Also a good place to check out recent conditions.
Anticipate 5 hours to complete.
Meeting time and place (as directed on the side panel): St. David's Church, Taylor Way. 10:00AM.
