Re-hashing this trip that was posted a couple of weeks ago I couldn't join (thanks Alain P)
The plan is to hike Alouette mountain then hike up Evan’s peak on the return leg.
The trail is steep and challenging with an elevation gain of 1180 meter in less then 5 km.
For Alouette mountain, has a short easy scramble. Evan’s peak has two short class 3 scrambles, there is rope to assist at both but there is some exposure.
The hike will be moderate pace with short breaks and lunch at the top of Alouette mountain or Evans depending on timings.
Planning to be at the trailhead to start at 8am, give plenty for time for the light should take approx. 8 hours.
No day pass is required for Golden Ears anymore.
Bring 10 essentials, including head lamp.
Follow the trip forum will look to arrange carpooling the week before, will also monitor the weather and may postpone if conditions are adverse.
Distance: ~12 km
Elevation Gain: ~1300 m
Estimated Hiking Time: ~8 hrs.
