***Please note the very early departure time:5AM***
An amazing 360 degrees viewpoint rewards a rather difficult hike leading to it:)
Here is a more recent trip report: we will go up via the rocky area, not over the glacier!
There is some mild bushwhacking at the start of the trail and lots of trail finding along the route: this is NOT a well traveled area(i.e. no trail at all), so you must be VERY comfortable with off-trail hiking/scrambling and participating at finding the most optimal and SAFE route.
If you are a peakbagger that must tag the peak at all costs, please do not signup, as my philosophy is safety above all, so I will pull back from the peak if I feel that there is too much exposure.
There is a bit of scrambling involved, so a helmet is mandatory. Most of the scramble is a mild class 2, maybe one class 3 move to the true peak. If you are afraid of heights or uncomfortable on loose rocks, please do not sign up.
Any car can make it to the trailhead, albeit the road is an FSR, but very well maintained.
Please be considerate and do not sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are in very good physical condition.
Will be moving at a moderate/fast pace. Not for slow people, sorry.
