The Brain Traverse is a lesser known route in the Sky Pilot area. It starts off towards Stadium Glacier, then branches towards Halbrich. Where does it go? Why is it called the Brain traverse? Well, you'll have to join to find out!
We will start with a ride up the gondola. I have a pass, so I can help out with a discount fare if need be. If you want to run up the Sea to Summit trail, that's up to you but you might want to save a little juice for the Brain Traverse.
Full disclosure: I've never done the route, though it has been well described to me. The traverse involves a little 3rd to 4th class maneuvering, so you should be comfortable moving on steep, unprotected rock. This shouldn't be your very first scramble. That said, I move at a moderate pace, so this trip is open to newer scramblers and slower crowds.
I will wear approach shoes, and bring hiking poles. Bring the usual essentials. Anticipate an 8+ hour day. Some water sources are on route, and I will bring a water filter. I also have a Zoleo (satellite communicator).
Meet at the Sea to Summit gondola at 8:30.
