We'll meet at the LSCR parking lot at 9:00 am. The parking lot is located off Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver. You can use the following Google Maps link for directions: Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve parking lot
As the Paton Trail access is located off the paved Seymour Valley Bike Route, you'll need to bring bikes. We'll bike along the Seymour Valley Bike Route for approximately 9.5 km to reach the Paton Trail access point. We'll stash/lock our bikes in the forest during the hike.
The route is steep and unrelenting, moving steadily through a beautiful forest canopy and features a few challenging sections that require some use of hands to move upwards. Just past half way, there is dip with a short downhill section, before you ascend upwards toward Coliseum mountain, edging past a boulder field to link up and intersect with Coliseum mountain trail coming up from Norvan Falls. The trail is 9.3 km out & back, has an elevation gain of 1,352 meters and will take us around 6 hours in addition to the bike ride.
Optional stop at Rice Lake during bike ride back to the parking lot.
