Hi BCMC!
I thought this would be a great summertime getaway and I personally love the meadow section. Last time I was there, I thought it would be an amazing place to see the stars! If you haven't been to Blanca Lake, it's a beautiful hike. According to all-trails, it's ~15 km out and back with ~1100 m of elevation gain. I don't remember the elevation gain being that much but I could be wrong.
The drive and registration - A high clearance vehicle is 100% necessary, last few km are rough. I can bring 3 people in my truck. Hence, I've put the registration at 3 but I'm hoping someone else signs up that has a truck or jeep and maybe we can up the registration.
Details - I will be leaving from Vancouver and thought we would head out just early enough to avoid the morning traffic. Like 7. The drive is between 2 to 3 hrs. The hike I expect to take ~3-5 hours up. It will probably be hot but there's no rush. We've got a good portion of the day to get there. Once we get there, we can set up camp and hit the lake or some of the nearby peaks. Post that, we can watch the sunset and hopefully see the stars!
Planning and meals - Once we have some registrants, I'll set up a google sheet and WhatsApp chat for us to plan meals and what gear we need.
Fairweather - I would like to see the stars and be warm. If it rains, we will postpone.
Disclaimer - On the part about the drive. I have three passenger seats but the back ones are the ones that face each other. So, I hope you like getting cozy!
