The access road was in good condition in 2022 so apparently its a good time to visit the Phelix creek area. I haven't been there but I understand that its approx 4.5 km or 2-3h hike to hut. The hut is closed but we can camp nearby in the meadow.  Moderate scrambling objectives include Mts Gandalf, Aragorn, Tolkien and Shadowfax (described in Scrambles in SWBC or on-line). Depending on arrival time, we can climb a nearby peak the first day.  Remainder will be the group's decision.  Recent satellite images (Sentinelhub Playground) show the lake and slopes snow-free.  I have a Forester and can take 2-3, so we need another similar vehicle for more than that number of participants. The dates could move forward or back a day if participants desire.
