Scrambling to some of the peaks in the Tolkien group for the Canada Day weekend.
The main objective for Sunday will be Tolkien Peak, but it the group gets larger we can discuss splitting into smaller scrambling parties, depending on everyone's experience and comfort levels. I have previously been up Peregrine, Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn and Shadowfax at least once each, and would be happy to assist with planning for any of these. If the group is smaller we will stick together.

We will camp near the Brian Waddington Hut on Long Lake. It is possible to stay in the hut for $10/night, but it is not reservable and might get busy on the long weekend. The VOC will also be conducting roof repairs at some point over the summer, but my understanding is that this won't start until later in July. I plan to tent to be safe, but the choice is yours.
The trailhead is 4x4 accessible. The road was repaired in 2021 and as of last year was still in good condition, drivable for basically any AWD or 4WD, but I can't guarantee its condition now. I have a 4x4 and can offer rides for 2 passengers. If you have a suitable vehicle and are willing to drive let me know.
