The plan is to explore the trekking routes around the Manaslu area before road construction changes the route forever.  This trip will be approximately five weeks from door to door with a full month of trekking.  We will leave in mid-October and return in mid to late November.  This is a great way to stay in shape and miss the West Coast Monsoon. Porters will carry the bulk of your gear (up to 12 kg per person) allowing you to hike with a light day pack from the lower valleys and villages to the 5300 m Larkya La pass.  We will be staying in tea houses and lodges along the way and will be accompanied by a guide, but will be managing our own schedule.  Expect to experience different cultures, religions, and food against a background of spectacular Himalayan scenery.  Participants must be reasonably fit and used to walking 6 to 8 hours a day or covering 15 to 20 km on trails with an elevation gain of up to 1200 m.  You should be able to hike the Grouse Grind in an hour or less or hike to Panorama Ridge and back in a day.   Flight costs to Nepal are approximately $2000 and expect to spend about $3000 while in Nepal.
