Classic Duffey ski line. I'll be camping in Pemberton Saturday night before this trip. Preference given for those able to make both Sat/Sun.
Roundtrip 10km and ≈1000m gain. Expect moderate pace.
This is not a beginner friendly trip. Strong intermediate to advanced skiing abilities are required. Participants must be able to confidently ski black diamond runs in any conditions. This line peaks at 38° and angles off down below. Ice axe and crampons may be required for the ridge out to the top of heartstrings and ski crampons would be a good idea for the joffre lakes trail.
If avy or snow conditions do not allow for heartstrings then the plan will change to tree skiing above upper and middle joffre lakes or on Mt Rohr. Forecast has been changing between 10-25cm of snow over Friday-Sunday so we'll assess conditions closer to the day.
