Introductory Wilderness First Aid Course (20 hours) - BCMC members only
We are organizing a course with Canada West Wilderness Medical Consultants at a discount rate for BCMC members only!
This is an introductory course to wilderness first aid focusing on general medical concepts and basic life support skills. This course is targeted to outdoor enthusiasts who want to learn to use and improvise first aid supplies.
The course runs over two full-day (20 hours) sessions, with an optional evening session for those interested in obtaining certification in CPR (C) with AED.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be issued by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute for the wilderness first aid portion of the course, valid for three years. If you take the CPR session as well, you will also receive a certification issued by the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation (CPR certification) that must be renewed annually.
