If the conditions are appropriate, I'd like to explore the Stadium Glacier and the tree runs E of there (esp. W of Ledge Saddle, like Home Run) to get a feel for the area. Actual route will depend on ski and avalanche conditions -- let's explore and get in a nice day of skiing! If you have a line in mind that you want to check out, I might be open if conditions are appropriate.
Depending on how the weather plays out, it might be a bit icy in places, and the ski out on the road might be a bit tricky. Forecast is for weather around freezing with some fluctuations, so there will be some survival skiing, and there may or may not also be some awesome skiing.
I'd like to upload at 9am, and download by 5pm. (Meet at 8:05 am at St David's)
If conditions are good, we'll probably have ~1000-1500m of elevation gain in 8 hours.
You should:
a. Have relatively good cardiovascular fitness to keep a good pace uphill (moderate to fast BCMC pace).
b. Be comfortable skiing all black diamond runs at WB in all conditions, and be able to ski black diamond powder bowls and icy tree runs efficiently.
c. Have completed AST1 and additional backcountry education, including recent companion rescue practice.
d. Bonus points if you know the area well... I don't.
e. Are oriented towards having a fun and safe day out in the mountains and are committed to make group-oriented decisions that maximize the chances of that happening.
If I know you, just text me to ask whether you're a good fit.
