This is a BCMC Mentorship trip but open to other BCMC members as well. Years of backcountry experience is required, this trip is not suitable for newbies only for people who are familiar with the area. Preference if you have AST2.
Trip details: Trip revised to Gin are from Whistler Olympic Park. Rating is HIGH on avalanche Canada forecast. Whistler Olympic Park gate at 8:15am. 8:30 entry. $20. Skin up, tree ski and get high on your own supply!
Gear: Create the list and post this in the planning forum. One of the mentees to come up with a list of all items that should be carried on a day trip.
Weather: Various sources: Avalanche Canada, weather stations, Windy, etc. Participants are expected to complete the pre-trip planning form from "Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain" book. If you don't have the book you can download the sheets from the internet.
Route Info: Load Whistler Gondola to the Roundhouse. Reference: John Baldwin Map and other mapping tools: Gaia/FatMap/CalTopo etc.
