Practice your Glacier Travel and Crevasse Rescue Skills Above the Seymour Ski Area
We will travel up from the Seymour Ski Area to practice glacier travel techniques and crevasse rescue skills on steep slopes and rugged terrain.
This is Not a course!
This trip is suitable for participants who have completed a crevasse rescue course.
Gear required: Your own 10 essentials.
Digital transceiver, Metal Shovel, Probe.
Helmet, harness, ice ax, gear for glacier travel & crevasse rescue.
Other equipment to be discussed during pre-planning.
Always be prepared to return after dark.
Review the 10 essentials and bring with you what is appropriate for this activity.
Organizer will bring GPS watch; GMRS Radios; inReach/Personal Locator Beacon; Basic first aid kit.
Winter tires required to drive up Seymour.
7:55am: Attendance and transceiver check at trailhead kiosk, NW corner of Seymour Resort upper parking area.
