Weather allowing, a solstice hike up Siyám Smánit (the Stawamus Chief,) to see the sun set and moon rise. Followed by refreshments. This year there are two full moons bracketing midwinter's day, December 7th and January 6th (twelfth night). So we get two chances at a clear afternoon.
It will be a winter hike, so warm clothing, sturdy footwear, microspikes or such, walking poles or even ice axe, and of course headlamp, are all needed. Almost certain to be snowy if not icy conditions.
Decision on whether the trip will 'go' will be made 24 hours ahead.
