Broughton Archipelago is considered world-class sea kayaking - similar to Broken Group but a bit more remote/further north. Tends to be pretty busy in the summer with tour groups, so late September is a great time to visit. Reasonably protected area with fairly short crossings between islands, so suitable for the less experienced kayaker (though there will be a deliberate bias towards experienced kayakers within the group to keep it safe).
It will take a day to travel to and from the launch point (probably around Telegraph Cove or Port McNeil) so actual kayak time will be around 7 days (weather dependent).
The trip will run from Saturday to the Sunday of the following weekend, over a holiday week, so participants may only need 4 days off work, even though it is a 9-day trip.
NOTE: I categorise sea kayak trips as 'hiking' because there is no 'sea kayaking' option, and using the 'other' category means that no-one in the BCMC receives an email regarding the trip.
