Objectives: Skaha Bluffs is quite a large park with a lot of options for easy, moderate and advanced climbers. As we're a big group I think there will be a bit of movement from crag to crag, but the plan at the moment is to select a couple each day (am & pm) and climb in pairs/as a group at each location. My goal is to try and maximise our climbing time while having a good time as a group.
Requirements: You should be comfortable leading, lead belaying, setting up anchors and cleaning anchors. Although I'm sure there'll be top ropes available you shouldn't be relying on them being there. You must bring all of your personal rock climbing gear (helmet, harness, shoes, PAS, anchor, etc.) and a good head for safety. Ideally you have a rope, quick draws and are ready to have a lot of fun!
Transportation: Carpool from the GVA to Skaha Lake on Thursday after work. Carpooling and meet up point to be coordinated in late August. Leave Skaha on Sunday, either first thing in the morning for an early return to Vancouver, or later in the day to accommodate some last minute climbs.
Accommodation: I've booked four tent pads (fourteen people total) at Banbury Green (http://www.banburygreen.com/location.html). For those of you who've never been there, its a great spot. A lot of the tent sites are right on the lakes edge. There's clean bathrooms and hot showers included. Its about a 15 minute drive to the park from the camp site.
Downtime: The days are still quite long in September but we will more than likely have some downtime at camp each night. We'll hopefully have a fire, some card games, campfire story's (about climbing OFC!) and some BBQ.
