We will hike the 12 km to the cabin and camp there.  It is a 1200 m elevation gain and will likely take five or six hours.  Some sections can be brushy.  Once at the cabin we will have a couple of days to explore the alpine area with many peaks to scramble and tarns and lakes to swim in.  For those that are interested, we may be combining this trip with a couple of days of trail clearing from Monday to Wed after the long weekend.  This would involve flying our gear and us into the cabin and setting up a work camp by Lizzie Lake after we have done the alpine hiking.
