The logging road is clear! All brushed out, nice easy hike for 2km from new trailhead parking. Old growth forest, boulder fields and open alpine from here on in to the icefield. Just need to plan out the most efficient route up to the icefield, and then mark it.
Meet Saturday morning, drive up to the top of Squamish river valley. Two options: Either daytrip in and return to camp at trailhead, or carry light overnight packs and plan to camp out in alpine near to the icefield.
There is no trail! There will be a fair amount of scrambling, and some bushwhacking. Need to be properly dressed (no shorts! Long sleeves) and equipped for this. Will take light tools (machete, pruners, handsaws) to use where necessary.
