This trip is only open to BCMC Mentorship Program participants. Preference will be given to mentees of the organizer (mentor). The organizer can open this trip to other mentees/mentors if needed.
Trip details: The trip is weather depends. It will be rescheduled if the weather is really crappy. We will talk about how to plan/prepare a trip first and then review/practice some skills to prevent accident or when things go wrong..., it might cover the following topics depends on how much time we have :
1. Alpine hazard
2. Preparation and equipment
3. Route finding and navigation
4. Alpine rock movement skills, rope management, belay anchors, descent methods
5. Problem solving
1) Leading skills--Loose rock and runout routs, Protect second for traversing
2) Alpine anchor building
3)Rappelling: Rappelling without a device, passing a knot, rappelling on traversing terrain, transition from rappelling to ascending, stuck rope solutions.
4)Self rescue: Escaping the belay, Hauling your partner, Tandem rappelling..
6. Climbing as team of three scenario.

Basic trad climbing gears.
240 cm sling or 5m cord
120cm slings 1 or 2
Prusiks
Microtraction /rocknroll
Grigri if you have.
