Trip Description

Climbing or hiking in the Squamish area, followed by a picnic or BBQ, and perhaps patriotic activities for Canada Day. For those who have Thursday off, but who must work on Friday, and so don't have a four day weekend. The plan is to meet at Squamish at a reasonable time, go climbing or hiking as participants prefer, then meet at Murrin Park for an afternoon social.

There will not be elaborate organizing - we'll do whatever makes sense, given weather and conditions. Meet at St. David's church (Taylor Way & Highway 1) at 9:00 AM, proceed. Bring hiking or climbing stuff as suits yours fancy, plus whatever you'd like to eat and drink, and whatever you need to cook it.

One option for the climbers may be an ascent of Slab Alley, the first route on the Apron in 1961, which is (almost) newly restored. For a somewhat dated report, see  http://www.squamishclimbing.com/squamish_climbing_bb/viewtopic.php?t=2522 (This won't be an instructional trip, though.)

Please let me know if you're interested, so a modest amount of coordination can occur.
