This trip is only open to BCMC Mentorship Program participants. Preference will be given to mentees of the organizer (mentor). The organizer can open this trip to other mentees/mentors if needed.
Trip details: We will spend one day on our local hill to review/practice the basic skills we might need for our upcoming trips. Topics will be covered:
1. Climbing steep snow
--Footwork
--Ropework
--Climbing tools
--Self arrest
2. Glacier travel & Crevasses rescue
--Roping up for glacier travel
--Hauling system(will be focused on 2: 1 drop loop, 6:1 raise)
--Snow anchors

Snow picks(one each with attached sling(60cm or 120cm) and non locking carabiner)

Weather: It suppose to rain on Sunday.
Please dress according to the weather and bring extra warm gloves. Feel free to bring your favorite Ramen, I will bring a tarp tent and a stove for the break.
