There are two potential routes I'm considering. The first takes the Rutherford Creek FSR to Branch 550, after which we ascend the west flank of the mountain. It's a steeper but more direct approach. Steven Song posted a good trip report and .gpx from last June.
An alternative would be to turn off Rutherford Creek FSR sooner and take a branch FSR to a cutblock at about 50.18'16''N 122.54'43"W (check out Google Maps), and then contour round into the Pemberton Creek valley and approach the east side of Ipsoot. This would be preferable as it leads to a more mellow approach, but I'm not 100% sure of the condition of the FSR so it might be a no-go.
The trip is weather-dependent. If the weather looks too gnarly, we'll reschedule - possibly to Saturday the 14th if that is looking more promising.
AST1 and decent fitness a prerequisite. Crevasse rescue knowledge would be preferable but given the time of year I don't think crevasses will be a major concern, and we can decide closer to the time how much crevasse gear to bring.
