A day of canoeing on Pitt Lake and Widgeon Slough, and hiking to Widgeon Lake!

Once participants are confirmed you can etransfer me your $40, and I will book the relevant number of canoes.

We will pick up the rental canoes right at Grant Narrows boat launch. $80 per canoe, which can fit 2 people.

We get the boats at 8am, and return them for 6pm.

That gives us 10 hours to paddle across to the Widgeon Creek campground, hike to Widgeon Lake and back, and then spend some more time on the water in the evening. Bring some good food!

Pace will be moderate to fast; the hike is 18km round trip, and 900m gain. most of it is on an old logging road, the last part is a steep trail to the lake.

The canoeing portion is 9km round trip. You must have some previous experience on the water, be it canoe/kayak/paddleboard/sailing etc. You must be able to swim, OR wear a lifejacket at all times. Preferably both.

Total of 27km in around 9hrs.

And if you want to join and bring your own boat... even better!
