Isothermal? Saturated? Crusty? Refrozen?
Should make for terrible skiing, but good digging practice!
Let's meet up at the Hollyburn Nordic Area, and skin back into the woods to find a pleasant place to practice. We will practice efficient digging, burying packs to probe, and transceiver searches.
I will bring my crevasse rescue kit as well; so if you are interested in reviewing your CR skills, bring your harness and gear too. I'll bring an 8mm rope.
I am not a guide, and this is not professional instruction. Just an amateur who wants to encourage more practice! Although I am the trip "leader", we will all be equals, discussing and working together. I anticipate that once we find a good location in the woods, we will split off into small groups to practice skills.
All experience levels welcome.
Please have your 2 vaccines, as we will be in close quarters.
PS: We will be standing around a lot; dress warm, bring good food, and warm drinks!
