This is a nice, short, loop-type trip with some challenging skiing/riding down the gully.
The weather and conditions seem promising, but we've had no new snow for a while, plus lots of rain on top of the earlier snow pack, so I can't guarantee powder, but the views should be rewarding! All participants are expected to evaluate safety prior and during the trip.
Meet at 8:30 am at the northern end of parking lot 3B along Cypress Bowl Road in West Vancouver, near the shed (between the Nordic and alpine ski areas; also check the attached gpx file for a sample track). I will have a track loaded on my GaiaGPS, but I suggest participants load it on theirs too. I expect to be done by 1 pm latest.
This trip is suitable for newcomers to ski-touring/mountaineering, who are confident skiers/riders (black diamond runs under ANY conditions) as long as they are fit and don't mind tree skiing/riding. Pace will be moderate.
Bring your avalanche safety gear (transceiver, probe, shovel) and your 10 essentials (e.g., here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Ae6OKjb6I).
Details regarding route and plan for the day will be discussed in the planning forum. Feel free to text me if that's more efficient.
