The plan is to meet at the base of Sea to Sky gondola at 8:45am for safety meeting, take gondola up at 9, skin up to the campsite and set up the camp. Do some ski laps in the afternoon. Optional itinerary includes practicing glacier travel, partner rescue, crevasse rescue. Next day do some ski laps in the morning and ski out. If you have winter/backcountry camping experience and gear this trip is for you!
AST-1 is required and winter camping experience is preferred. You are responsible for your own winter camping gear. Please use example checklist for reference. The pace is easy to moderate with emphasis on enjoying the trip. If the part of the group wants to practice crevasse rescue they must have crevasse rescue kits.
The location and trip plan may change depending on weather and avalanche conditions. Other locations may include Elfin Lakes area or Mt. Mulligan. Accessing the trailhead is also possible by snow-ready 4x4 and can be discussed later.
