Trip Description

Seagram Peak sits between Tricouni and Cypress Peaks.  This is an extremely beautiful area that I've been meaning to get back to for a few years.  It starts with the trail to Tricouni Meadows.  It then follows further up the valley through excellent meadows, a few boulders, and past a few more lakes until we reach Seagram Lake.  At that point a little bit of route finding will be necessary to break through a cliff band.  It should be class 2, or perhaps easy class 3 with no exposure.  Then it's a simple ramble to the summit.  I expect an 8 or 9 hour day depending on pace. Part of my motivation for this trip is to get a good view of the terrain between Seagram & Cypress to see how feasible that route might be.  For those who have not been to the Tricouni area, it is known for epic mud in the forest section before the meadows.  Even in the driest summers, bring gaiters.    I have a jeep with high clearance.  If additional high clearance vehicles are available we can add more people if desired. Oh yeah, don't forget the gaiters.  Bear spray would be nice to bring as there have been grizzly sightings in the area in previous years.
