We've been restoring a portion of the Baden Powell trail in West Vancouver alongside Lawson Creek.
We'll meet at 9 AM on Saturday, August 14th at the trail head located at the intersection of Millstream Road with Eyremount Drive in West Van. See map. We'll probably hike up to the work zone. On the map, its labeled as "Lawson Creek Trail". It's about a 20 minute hike from parking. We'll carry shovels. You can bring your own or by prior arrangement I can pick some up from the tool cache in at Blair's place.
Please let me know if you're interested in helping out. Allow most of the day although it could be much shorter. Bring work gloves.
This is from the contractor: We will need 4 to 6 people: 2 loading at the bottom and 2 unloading and spreading at the culvert and 1 to 2 people may need to help me clear that one large step about midway up trail or temporarily fill it in with logs and debris so I can drive over it. I have a dump trailer for the ATV but there is no where to turn around so we will be using a bucket carrier attached to the ATV. The ATV can not move large loads about 3 to 4 buckets at a time but will be a much quicker turn around time. We will use 8 to 12 buckets and just keep cycling them.
