St. Davids Church in West Van at 6:00 am
This trip will be a 50 50 blend of working on the trails while heading up to climb some peaks. The flight in is paid by the BCMC in exchange for putting in a couple of days of work. The cabin has a wood stove for heat and liquid fuel Coleman stoves as well as pots and pans and cutlery. There are no mattresses at the cabin. The peaks are typical class three with a bit of steep snow at the top. As there is glacier travel involved on many of the peaks you should be up to date with your crevasse rescue skills and have all the gear. Ice axe, crampons, harness and prussiks and pulleys. This should be a fun five days checking out a great area and improving the access. It is about a four hour hike out at the end of the trip. The turn off to the North Creek FSR is at KM 17 on the Lillooet FSR. The road is 2WD for about 3 km, and then you take a left turn on an AWD road for about 4 km to the parking lot. Please note that this trip is separate from the "Pebble Peak Mountain Week" or the "North Creek Trail Work Party" . Please send any emails or inquiries to Ian McGillivary.
