Canada (Dominion) day this year is an orphan holiday - it's on a Thursday. Most of us don't get a four day weekend.
The plan:
1. Members (in small groups) hike, climb, snowshoe, paddle or whatever, in the general vicinity of Squamish.
2. One self-sacrificing person (me) will arrive early at Murrin Provincial Park, to stake out a picnic table.
3. We meet at Murrin in the afternoon for a patriotic picnic.
Subject to covid restrictions and such, of course.
The first line of our Constitution Act: "WHEREAS the Provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick have expressed their Desire to be federally united into One Dominion". So July 1st used to be called Dominion Day, although no one ever figured out just what a dominion was. It's interesting to see that the Use of Capitals in 1867 was as inconsistent as is sometimes seen today.
