We will access Griswold pass from an old mining road at the head of the Bridge River FSR roughly 20 km North West of the end of Downton Lake in the Goldbridge area.  We will have a three-hour hike with heavy packs to our first camp where we will spend a couple of nights.  Then we will hike up to Griswold pass for four more nights to explore the surrounding area and then return in a day to the cars for the long drive home.  This is a spectacular, remote area of lakes, meadows, glaciers, and peaks.  Most peaks are easily scrambled and glacier travel can be avoided.  This is more of a wilderness backpacking/camping trip with low third-class scrambles to the summits, Participants must be reasonably fit and used to backpacking and hiking in untracked terrain.  This is not a place for running shoes.  You must be prepared for steep bushwacking, scree, creek crossings, and varied terrain.  No climbing gear is required, but walking poles are recommended.
