Mt. Underhill "The Long Way" - UND Bagger Challenge peak
We will meet at the trailhead to be ready to head up at 7am for a brisk hike to Mt. Underhill. Also may want to pop down to the water near Underhill for the Bagger Challenge Waterbag star if everyone is feeling relatively fresh at that point. This route follows part of the old Elsay Lake Trail and doesn't involve some of the private roads etc of other routes.
Please bring your 10 essentials, suitable clothing, perhaps micro-spikes though I don't believe the trail is likely to have any snow or ice.
Some details:
- Involves a fair number of creek crossings some of which are impassable after a period of heavy rain/snow melt. Looks like it should be okay for Monday
-I've been told that though, on the map, it looks like a mellow trail that gently goes up and down, it is a long, tiring, and at time times technical route with about 900m of elevation gain.
-Though the route has recently had a bunch of work done including markings, some route finding skills may be required.
Here's a post by one of the fine folks who recently did a bunch of work on the trail. It includes a picture of the route we'll take. I can provide their GPX once your registered for the trip:

A small parking lot is located at the trailhead just off Mt. Seymour Rd. at the Baden Powell crossing. On a busy day, this lot will often be full without other nearby parking options. We'll meet here at 7am and head up the road to the point where the trail starts:

Total 26km, 900m elevation gain.
