Last week, I noticed that there is a practice field available for use located west of the Mystery Chair. We can actually bury some transceivers in the snow. So let's bring them out and do some practice.
Feel free to join even if you haven't taken your AST1 before to get a preview. I recently got a new one and would like to be acquainted with using it before I take it in the field. It'd be good refresher for me to go over this stuff with anyone else that shows up too. Bringing a friend to practice with is OK too (just make sure to register them as well so I know).
This is a 2-part trip on the Sunday. One is just a snowshoe hike up Brockton Point or First Pump early in the morning (please sign up for that one separately). The second part is this event for the practice after we get down from the mountain and have a bite to eat.
I broke this trip up into two parts so you don't have to commit to both, but I really wanted to make a day out of it. I'm going to give preference to people who want to join for both so they can also make full use of their trip out to Seymour.
I'm not organizing any carpooling due to COVID. The practice area is on the west side of the Mystery Chair. Please meet there. You can check parking conditions on Mount Seymour's twitter feed before you come up.
