The trail to Brockton and Pump Peak are well mark with poles. You should bring snowshoes or crampons since there will be some steep sections. I wouldn't recommend microspikes if there are icy conditions. Please also bring the 10 essentials. If you have an avalanche kit, it wouldn't hurt to bring that too.
This is a 2-part trip on the Sunday. One is just a snowshoe hike up Brockton Point or First Pump (depending on our pace). The second part is some avalanche transceiver practice when we get down the mountain (please sign up for that one separately).
I broke this trip up into two parts so you don't have to commit to both, but I really wanted to make a day out of it. I'm going to give preference to people who want to join for both so they can also make full use of their trip out to Seymour.
Start Time: 8:00 AM
Rating: Moderate
Distance: 7 km
Net Elevation Change*: 474 m
I'm not organizing any carpooling due to COVID. The start of the trail is on the west side of the Mystery Chair. Please meet there. You can check parking conditions on Mount Seymour's twitter feed, but there should be availability this early in the morning.
