The weather on Sunday looks excellent for an early November outing. We'll need vehicles that can get up Branch 200, so participants will be limited by the number of appropriate vehicles on the trip. The route is described in "Scrambles" by Matt Gunn. Please review the information there.
Microspikes or crampons are required for travel over slippery or snowy ground cover. There may be 40 cm of new snow at elevation on Friday. I am bringing my snowshoes. Helmets are recommended, as are a first aid kit and warm clothes, water, snacks, etc. You will want to bring a change of gloves/mitts and over mitts. The hiking is approximately 10 km in and out, with 925 meters elevation gain.
Meeting will take place Sunday morning at the Church on Taylor Way. Be ready to leave the church at 6:30 am. Rendezvous in Squamish at the Mamquam Rd Starbuck, close to Canadian Tire, at 7:15. I will join the trip there, along with anyone else from the Squamish area.
