Tree Planting in Manning Park to assist with Whitebark Pine Restoration
We will be joining the The Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation of Canada this weekend in Manning Park along with a biologist and volunteers who work with BC Parks to maintain trails and support many of the recreational activities that can be pursued here.
Whitebark Pine is a keystone species essential to ecosystem function on many alpine and sub-alpine sites. It is a species at risk and is being recovered in Manning Park.
It looks like we have enough people already for Sunday, so reaching out to a few BCMC members to help out on Saturday.
