Even though the Public Health Order which discourages and/or prohibits inter-regional travel expires on January 8, 2021 (which is before this trip), I can't in good conscience organize a club trip with so much travel. I feel uncomfortable organizing this event and I will be cancelling it.
Basic outline:
Leave work friday PM. Ask the boss if you can disappear a few minutes early.
Beverages at the Trapper Snowboards factory Friday night.
Full day shredding the classics in The Pass Saturday.
Back to town to take part in the Splitfest festivities (canucksplitfest.com)
A slightly shorter day Sunday; try to be on the highway for no later than 15:30.
Mandatory equip:
Splitboard (If you ski and you come along, you will be heckled all weekend)
Parks Canada Annual Winter Permit - Do the quiz in advance
Parks Canada Pass
Nice if you have them:
inReach / VHF
Phone in IP67 case (If you use Gaia/Avenza, bring a phone battery pack)
Notebook
Meetup and logistics:
16:30 meeting at the Chevron at Boundary near Grandview. 16:35 departure. Carpool, accomodation, and similar planning will be TBD until we can understand what sort of COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions we are operating under.
More than 6 people?:
If someone wants to step-up to co organize and we can split into two groups, that would be awesome. Groups >6 in ATES Complex terrain simply don't work.
