The trail starts a couple of km off the highway to Pemberton, just behind the dirt bike track on the North side of the highway. After a couple of km of old logging road the new trail climbs steadily 1400m to tree line and stunning views. Beyond that we can expect to travel over snow and meadow to the final 300m long ramp to the summit. An ice axe is required if you want to go to the top as the final slope is about 25 degrees. Good for a bum slide, but you need to be able to stop. Overall the hike climbs about 2000m or 2.5 times the Grouse Grind so it is one of the longer trail hikes in the Lower Mainland.
Please be considerate and do not sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are in very good physical condition. If you never hiked with me, you must contact me before signing up!
Will be moving at a moderate/fast pace. Not for slow people, sorry.
