This trip is exploratory in nature to Pinecone Peak (2000 m). We will drive the Mamquam FSR to KM 21. We park there. If we can't reach that then we can return and ski up Martin Peak from the south and down the Watersprite winter route.
The trip is roughly 9 km and 1500 meters elevation gain, one way. There is about 100 meters to gain on the way out. If the sun is strong and the south ridge of Pinecone is wet and loose, we'll ski up the adjacent Knothole Ski Peak (1918 m) instead.
Suitable trip for intermediate or better skiers. Fitness level must be reasonable but you don't need to be a marathon runner. if you're planning on bringing a snowboard, check with me first.
Headlamp required and spare batteries. Avalanche beacons, shovels required. Bring warm clothes.
Please bring cash to compensate drivers (no e-transfers). Bring up to $20 or $30 but the cost may be less depending on numbers and vehicle. If you need to contact me don't send a text. I don't receive them. Email is preferred.
