Please take a moment and read all the details of this trip:)
Albeit the freezing levels are quite low, we can get some nice runs in this area as it gets us reasonably fast over 1500m.
The tree skiing might not be that fun, with the low snow pack that we have in the Duffey, but there is enough open terrain to have some fun:)
At the same time, if conditions require (weather or AVI forecast, the actual destination might change).
There is the option to join forces with the other group going to Mt Rohr, in order to be more efficient at trail-breaking, so you must be comfortable with a longer trip in that case(16km and 1200m elevation).
This is a trip for intermediate and advanced BC skiers only. We won't do any crazy chutes but you should be able to ski black runs under any type of conditions
Please do not signup if you are not able to break trail in rotation, if conditions require that, of course.
Please be considerate and do NOT sign up unless you are 100% committed for the trip and you are at least an intermediate skier(can do black runs in any conditions, including trees) in the Backcountry. If in doubt about your capabilities send me a message and we can talk about it:)
Will be moving at a moderate-fast pace. Not for slow people, sorry.
MUST have :
AST1 training
Shovel, probe and avi beacon
Food and water for the whole day
First aid kit!
Ski Helmet
Headlamp with spare batteries
