Backcountry skiing from Highway 3 in Manning Park. We drive to Cayuse Flats and head up the logging road to Silverdaisy Pass. From there it a couple of kilometers to the summit. We may shortcut one of the upper switchbacks on the logging road to save about one km. See the kml file that is attached to the trip files.
Suitable trip for intermediate or better skiers. Fitness level must be reasonable but you don't need to be an ultra marathon runner. The one way trip is about 10 km with 1200 meters of elevation gain. Depending on the trail breaking and avalanche conditions, we may reach the summit. The forecast is for High avalanche conditions in the Alpine zone, which is about the upper 200 meters above Silverdaisy Pass.
Headlamp required and spare batteries. Avalanche beacons, shovels required. Bring warm clothes.
