10AM @ The trailhead for the Grouse Grind
This hike is to train for fitness before the ski season. I will be bringing a 60-lb pack and mountaineering boots; I recommend that anyone who is coming bring as much equipment as they typically bring on their winter trips for maximal verisimilitude.
The trail is marked the whole way, but, in case you are unfamiliar with it, please find descriptions of it here: https://www.vancouvertrails.com/trails/grouse-grind/ https://www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/british- columbia/grouse-grind-trail
According to avalanche.ca, we will be travelling almost exclusively through simple terrain, and there is a low risk of avalanches in the area for Sunday.
I am aiming to get up and down the trail in roughly three hours--I will not move fast. Please bring your traction device of choice (snowshoes, microspikes, etc.) for the top of the trail.
Please come prepared with the ten essentials, food, water, etc. I will bring a first-aid kit.
