This technical crevasse rescue course is for BCMC members who want to strengthen their glacier travel & crevasse rescue skills. You will spend one day in Squamish learning advanced rescue skills and rope techniques applicable to all rope rescue systems, followed by a 2nd day in the an alpine region adjacent to Backcomb Mountain or on Mt Seymour in order to apply your rope rescue skills in an alpine environment.
Intermediate ski/snowboard ability with backcountry skiing experience, rope-handling skills (knots, belays, use of harness etc.) is required.
Base course Fee: $235.05 + GST (Special price for BCMC Members; CWMS Non-BCMC Fee: $275 + GST)
Possible extra cost for the lift access fee for Whistler/Blackcomb access.
Location: Squamish on Day 1, either Blackcomb or Seymour on Day 2
