Approach from Austin Pass and the Lake Ann trail. Leaving midday on Tuesday (TBD), camping at Lake Ann. 3 AM start on Thursday. If participants decide to do it in a day, they can join the group at 3 AM at Lake Ann.
Required gear: helmet, crampons, ice axe(s), a picket, 1-2 ice screws, the usual gear you use for crevasse rescue, headlight, ropes to be discussed, enough clothes to survive a night at an altitude in case of an emergency. Food. PASSPORT and medical insurance.
A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle. This can be obtained from the ranger station in Glacier, or online at:
